James Schaefer

James’ favorite aspect of ministry is helping remove obstacles for those who believe that an experience of God is beyond them. This work of faith to see hearts encouraged and knit together in love to reach Christ is a struggle God enters into and leads.

B. B. Warfield describes where God leads us: wherever people suffer, there we will be to comfort. Wherever people strive, there we will be to help. Wherever people fail, there we will be to uplift. Wherever people succeed, there we will be to rejoice.

After graduating from Covenant Theological Seminary with an MDiv, James worked for ten years with a global non-profit as a theologian and a design facilitator, helping churches make breakthroughs in ministering the gospel to children and youth.

James has discipled men of all ages and has taught children and youth (pre-K through grade 12) Bible, Art, and History. With gifts of hospitality and discernment, he cares for people through the relational graces of conversation and prayer.

James and his wife Jen live near Chattanooga, Tennessee with their two kids. Hiking and teaching outdoor painting classes are refreshing ways James enjoys God’s glory with others.

James and Jen also share a heart to walk alongside couples, together, in marriage counseling sessions. To meet with both James and Jen for marriage counseling, please visit their shared page.
