Tina was born in Korea and grew up in a multicultural military family, living in different places throughout the United States before eventually settling in Georgia. As a teenager, she clearly heard the Gospel for the first time and began reading the Bible. Through the preaching and reading of God’s Word, she trusted in Jesus for salvation and was transformed by His grace. She met her husband in college, and they were married in 2005. They now have the joy of raising two teenage daughters and live in Washington, DC.
Before counseling, Tina and her family served in ministry for 15 years in Atlanta, Asia, and the Middle East. She graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Religious Studies and earned her M.A. in Counseling from Gateway Seminary. Tina is a member of Capitol Hill Baptist Church, where she serves part-time as a biblical counselor. As a sinner, sufferer, and saint, Tina desires to come alongside others with compassion and humility, helping them consider how the God of hope cares for and speaks to them in the struggles and joys of life.
Outside of counseling, Tina loves running, taking walks with family and friends, and spending time outdoors, especially with her dog, Scrumpy. She also enjoys benefiting from her husband’s love of specialty coffee in the morning.
